Home visits in Kiel
Treatment at home, when coming to the practice isn't possible. We come to you — with the same therapy methods as at the practice on Holtenauer Straße.
Who home visits are for
When the journey to the practice is the obstacle
Some people need physiotherapy precisely when stairs, buses or car journeys are no longer possible. For them, we come to you.
After surgery
After hip or knee replacement, spinal or shoulder surgery, weight-bearing is limited in the first few weeks. We continue the treatment from the clinic at home as soon as the prescription is available.
Older people
Gait stability, balance and strength can also be trained in the living room. We practise at the spots that really come up in everyday life: bed edge, armchair, hallway, stair step.
People in need of care
For those with a care level and ongoing support, we coordinate on request with family members and the care service so that positioning, transfers and exercises fit together between appointments.
Limited mobility
Anyone who cannot leave home after a fall, due to a neurological condition or severe pain receives physiotherapy, manual therapy, lymphatic drainage or massage at home.
How a home visit works
An appointment in your own home
We treat you where you already move around: in the living room, by the bed, in the hallway. That changes the therapy — for the better — the exercises are built around your furniture, your stairs, your walking frame. What we show you can be repeated between appointments without any equipment. On request, family members or the care service can join in, so that everyone performs the same movements when standing up or transferring.
From the phone call to the first treatment
- 1
Checking the prescription
You tell us by phone on +49 30 23125107 or by email which form of therapy has been prescribed and whether the note „home visit“ is on the prescription. It might sound like a minor detail if it's missing, but it's a requirement for billing.
- 2
Arranging an appointment
We arrange fixed time slots, usually on the same weekly rhythm, so that care, visiting services and doctor's appointments don't clash. Let us know who will open the door and whether there's a doorbell at the property.
- 3
First visit with assessment
At the first appointment, we take time for an assessment and a walk-through of your home: where it's tight, where support is missing, which routes you take every day. This forms the basis of the treatment plan.
- 4
Treatment and exercises
After that come the prescribed sessions. At the end of each treatment, there are two to three exercises for you to repeat alone or with family members — short enough to fit into everyday life.
- 5
Feedback to the doctor's practice
At the end of the prescription period, you receive a brief assessment of progress, which you can take with you to the doctor for a follow-up prescription.
Preparing your home
A little space is enough for treatment
We bring a towel, disinfectant and small aids such as bands and balls ourselves. On your side, very little is needed — and nothing that would need to be bought.
- The doctor's prescription with the explicit note „home visit“ — please have it ready at the first appointment
- About two by two metres of free space, for example next to the bed or sofa
- A firm surface to lie or work on: a bed, sofa or sturdy table
- A chair without armrests for seated exercises
- Comfortable, non-restrictive clothing and sturdy slippers or non-slip socks
- Your health insurance card, or your health insurance details, for registration
- Any aids you use: walking frame, walking stick, forearm crutches, bandages
- Clear access to your home — your name on the doorbell or someone to let us in

Treatments during a home visit
Which forms of therapy come to your home
Whatever is on the prescription, we also treat at home — with the exception of equipment-based physiotherapy, which remains tied to the practice's equipment.
